Our Story
It all started with a tiny bison plush, in a Yellowstone park gift shop. He came with me, got the most literal name, and became the most supportive, ready to party, encouraging little dynamo ever doodled. With an itty bitty cheerleader, I’ve been happily illustrating and beading ever since. When it gets hard, there’s always room for a doodle.
Way back when, in the shadows of the 2010s, I had this idea that I would paint, and paint, and paint, and the bounties of prints resulting would someday be sold in some booth in some market. I was pretty successful at the painting side of things, even the printing, but after a fire destroyed many of my watercolor pieces and my chronic illness flared to a peak - I realized it just wasn’t worth killing myself over. Years later I had my fateful Yellowstone trip and fell in love with the bison there, and eventually the tiny bison here. It was natural to start drawing again after that, and bit by bit it spread from doodles to drawing to painting to digital art… everything is possible when the art cheers you on.
When I started beading it was less bison focused, but still very freeform. I make art, if it happens to be art I can share or others can wear, even better - but I’m not breaking my back over it. Some really beautiful pieces have come out of this, and it was not long before people started asking for a chance to have their own. I’ve made some works for others, and now maybe it’s time to expand.
